Step 7:

Select one of the circular shapes and remove the line from it. In Xara click on the Transparency Tool (F6) and select "Circular> Mix> Repeating." Use 100% transparency. Now click on Arrange> Create Bitmap Copy (see Fig. 5). Create a smaller circular shape (Mine is 147 pixels in diameter.).Center this shape over the bitmap copy you created earlier (Fig. 6), and slice/cut (See Fig. 7 for the result.)

Step 8:

Center the sliced object from Step 7 over the object you created in Step 5 (See Fig. 8). Now, click on the last remaining dark blue circular shape you created in Step 6, and apply a linear transparency, using the Transparency Tool in Xara.
